Jordan Center 9th Nationally in Tickets Sold

UNIVERSITY PARK -- Pollstar magazine has ranked The Bryce Jordan Center 9th in concert tickets sold among all arenas in North America in the first quarter of this year.

Pollstar, a national weekly publication for the concert touring industry, recognized the center for selling 78,290 tickets between Jan. 1 and March 31.

The center sold more concert tickets than did arenas in cities such as Boston, Toronto, Los Angeles and New York.

Top-selling concerts at Bryce Jordan during the quarter included Billy Joel and Elton John, Jan. 16; Janet Jackson, Feb. 1; Linkin Park, Feb. 9; Weezer, Feb. 12; Neil Diamond, Feb. 26; Marvin Hamlisch, March 1; Harlem Globetrotters, March 4; and WWF RAW, March 25.

The top five arena venues during the quarter were First Union Center, Philadelphia; Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Mich.; Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids, Mich; Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, Calif; and Hartford Civic Center Coliseum, Hartford, Conn.
