Tampa Ticket Tryst

Greetings from Tampa, Florida. I have a quick story to tell you. It's a story about a Rush fan and a truly genuine person.

As my wife and I got to the ticket counter, the clerk found us some killer seats. I told him we'd take them and he rang us up. The total came to $146. I only had $140 in my pocket.

As my head went down, getting ready to purchase some nose-bleeders, the guy behind me in line said, "How much do you need? I'll follow you to the ATM (in the front of the store)." My eyes lit up and I quickly took him up on his offer. This left me with $14 in change.

I backed up and waited for him to buy his tickets. When he looked in his wallet to pay for his tickets, he was short on the money. I felt like an ass. That's when the tall guy behind him said,"Why don't I cover you and you can get me back at the ATM?"

I asked him how short he was...he needed $14. I told the third guy that it wasn't necessary and I gave the guy the $14 dollars that I had gotten for change of his $20.

On the way to the ATM he stared at his tickets and said,"I haven't seen these guys in so long." I could see the excitement in his eyes. He looked at me and told me not to worry about the six dollars. I insisted on paying him back. As I swiped my ATM card, I turned around to see him walking away, I shouted for him to come back and he yelled back,"What comes around goes around. It's Kharma!"

Wow. These two guys showed me what I had realized years before but had forgotten. Rush fans are a different breed of people. People that will stand by each other and help out a person when they need it. The third guy passed me on the way out with a smile on his face. "See you at the show, dude." I gave him the proverbial head nod and thanked him. I don't know if this will make it on your web page...but if it does, I'd like to sincerely say thank you to those two guys. They made me remember that the world isn't full of bad things and terrible people. What comes around goes around...

THANK YOU.

Peace and love,
