Email Exchange, Ohio to San Diego, 8/8/02

Jordan, I have been offered 10th row, center stage, VIP tickets to the Rush concert tonight. I need a date. Wanna go? -Tammy (Columbus, OH).

J - If I leave now, as Leif says, will I make it by 8 (12:15 San Diego Time)?

T - yup! airport is only 15 minutes away from here! :-) (Currently 3:15 p.m.)

J - I think I know at least a dozen people going to that show. Did someone really give you those tickets? It's at Polaris

T - Yes, it's at Polaris. Polaris Amphitheater is right behind our GES office. :-)

J - And why didn't you tell me this a month ago?

T - Was just offered the tix today. :-( Guess I won't be able to go since you can't be my date. I guess we'll just have to sit out on the GES patio and drink beer and just listen to them.

J - well, southwest airlines is SOL. No flights after noon into columbus. Find me a flight.

T - Check America West has a major hub here.....bet they can get you here in 4 hrs flat. Call Emerson and see if you can use one of the corporate jets from their fleet. :)

J - I'm trying to find a flight.

T - You would only make it in time if you were leaving RIGHT THIS MINUTE!

We're all looking at your site. All that work for one dang picture of a fish? And how's the apartment construction coming along?

J - tell me the flight and the airline and I'll come.

J - There's a 1:15 out of Phoenix. If I had known two hours earlier, I could have been there at 8 p.m. and only missed a couple of songs, wench.

T - How quick can you drive to Phx? So sorry you are gonna miss it but so am I now that you can't be my date....no one here will go with me. What's up with that?

T - Jordan babe, you won't make it in time. :( We tried.

J - Don't you DARE not go to that concert. I'll never speak to you again if you don't go. You HAVE to go. You NEED to go. It's not just a concert.

T - But I don't have a date and I just can't go by myself. Who are they anyway?

T - Just kidding....I know who they are. :-)

J - Look, I've gone to 100 concerts by myself and it's radical. You have to go! If anything, you have to take the tickets to the venue and sell them for $100 each. And not to just anyone. You have to sell them to a fan. I can help you identify one. You have to go

T - I just CAN'T go alone! It's a girl thang.

T - Well if I had thought about it 2 hrs ago, I certainly would have called you.

T - So how do you spot a true fan?

J - The good fans usually gather or hang out near the ticket windows. But wait. Let me call my friend Charles. He knows a bunch of people who are going to be at the show. Maybe we could sell the tickets to them. here did the tickets come from? Radio station? I'll make a call to see if I can find a fan who you could go with. Well, the one's we know are on the road from Cincinnati and we can't reach them.

J - Well, at least it got my heart rate up and made me smile. I would have come, you know, if you would have told me earlier in the day, dammit.
