FAN REPORTS FROM BRAZIL

From the Counterparts Message Board

Hi guys!

I WAS THERE!

About the attendance, don't worry. Olimpico is the smallest stadium they are going to play here, it can fit around 40k. Could be better? Yes, but we here in Brazil expected something around that. The crowd was crazy and we saw the boys were having such a great time, specially Geddy.

The next show in Sao Paulo is almost sold out, something around 80k people. From what I heard Rio is doing good, but maybe there is going to be more people in SP.

Here in Brazil, the theme that opened McGuyver TV series was Tom Sawyer, that's what the text says.

Neil's solo was completely different from what I saw in Toronto (Molson) and Jones Beach, specially the first part (before the drums turn around the first time). Seemed as if he was adding a samba accent to it. I'm almost sure he did this specially to Brazil, since samba is Brazilian, unlike the other latin sounds and we know he likes some brazilian drummers (as Milton Banana for example).

To my surprise, I met Andrew McNaughtan in the middle of the crowd. He came to talk to me, but I didn't recognize him. He wanted to understand what people were saying and I helped him. Then I asked to whom he were working for and when he answered me "to the band, I'm their photographer", I was shocked. I shook his hand and said I loved his work and talked a little bit. He said to me they are filming the fans in Brazil for a sort of making of, but the only show they are going to film is Rio. They will record Sao Paulo's audio, just in case they need. He is such a great guy. wacko.gif He also confirmed to me Geddy was amazed at the level of the questions the jornalists were making to the band.

I can't believe I'm going to see them tomorrow again :-)
