Welcome to the Ladder of Higher Consciousness, where you find yourself within the crowd at your favorite
RUSH show, bright images and sounds flashing by, lasers and flames and the Echoes of Old Applause keep climbing Higher
and Higher and Higher and Higher...Frozen in a fatal climb.
Until all of this, of course, reaches deep within the recesses of all of our tiny little Rush brains, and everyone
realizes that yes, this website still ploughs through the modems, cables, routers, servers, telephone lines, dual core processors,
ISPs and other connections and appears on your screens as hard and fast and unstoppable as if you were on that
Train to Bangkok, getting off on it all, but not really wanting it to ever make any stops, wanting
it to keep going and going and going and going...
I remember - the shouts of joy...on the wet summer lawn (or wherever you were sitting)...I clutch the stage
rail until my fingers bleed...the world weighs on my shoulders...but what am I to do? Do I hope or do I fear?
Are we the last Rush fans to survive? Memory banks unloading and every breath a static charge...Overwhelmed by
everything, but wanting more so much...
So, here's a LOT more.
I have a great friend and we are both inspired by each other, and like other Rush fans, by the band together
and in their own individuality. We also share a love of photography. He is inspired by my website, and I in turn
am inspired by his work and contributions to this website, which started on the
R30 Tour HERE. This inspiration runs very deep, because as a result
of posting PL's photos on echoesofoldapplause, one of his photos from R30 was so good that it ended up on the portal
to Neil's official website. Needless to say, we were both enthralled by this, as the ONLY place someone could have seen that photo was, err,
HERE!
It was really fun putting this page together. It was my intention to portray each individual member of the band
separately, and then put in images of the band members together and interacting on stage. Things are kept
equal by hatchet, axe and saw (the song I listened to recently as inspiration) with 12 photos of each member of the band, and then a final
collective slideshow of 18 photos.
PL and I are on the exact same page when it comes to these equality things - a symbiotic relationship encompassing very similar
attitudes and beliefs. And when you page down
a little bit more, you will see spectacular imagery from PL and a couple of vidoes that I recorded during this
tour. I admit, this pushes the limits of this site's content to a higher plane.
We agree between us that what you see below does NOT really belong to us, it belongs to Alex, Geddy
and Neil. They have just provided us the means to capture these moments in time. From myself, PL and RUSH,
please rise up to a higher level of morality and consciousness, as Alex seeks in his video clip, and respect
the work that you see here. Please do not share it, bootleg it, download it, sell it or do anything the band
would not want you to do with it. It is here for everyone's pleasure, not improper use, which I speak of all the time
on this website. This is a note from PL:
"Please - the pictures are yours alone (and the band's) to use on your site. I
like the idea of getting the good ones in front of fans - and since you have the
cool site...enough said. I really liked your message about "proper use" of the
photo's - I agree with you 100 percent."
And with the disclaimer now over with...please come with PL to Irvine Meadows in the center orchestra
section on the stills and me on the rail at Hollywood Bowl (videos). Thank you...Rush.
And don't forget! "Always, always, always, when you finish making a peep, don't forget to put
down the seat!"
