It seems like we are currently
drowning in available things Rush. So break out the cash and see how much
you can spend on the following goodies if you haven't heard about them
or bought them yet. It's an entire paycheck worth of fun:
1. The R30 DVD/CD release from Frankfurt, somewhat obvious, old news,
but combine it with these other items below! $40 bucks.
2. Neil's Anatomy of a Drum Solo, released December.
3. Exit Stage Left DVD, transferred/re-mastered from VHS, due out sometime
this spring.
4. Drop a Jackson on Jon Collins' book on the band called "Chemistry."
5. Music in Review, 48 page book and 2 DVD set will set you back about
$40, but from what we hear it's the worst thing that's ever been put together
about the band, and is completely unoffical garbage, officially.
6. If you can find it, get a copy of the UK's Classic Rock Magazine, featuring a new
interview with Alex Lifeson. It's the issue with Peter Gabriel on the cover. Shipping
and handling from the UK not included.
7. Neil's next book is anticipated to be released this year and will be called something close to "Road Show:
A Concert Tour by Motorcycle."
8. More things have been remastered, and there's talk of releasing previous DVDs
and un-remastered CDs in 2006...release, master, remaster...I'm so confused.
Are we supposed to have three of everything?
9. A Piano Tribute to Rush by Todd Mark Rubenstein joins two other tribute
concept CDs to the band. Pony up and go out and buy all three at once and put them
in the car for immediate listening. I don't have any of them yet but it will be only
a matter of time...I guess. The other disks are "Subdivisons" and "The String Quartet Tribute to Rush."
10. And of course let's not forget Rhythm and Light, Ghost Rider, Traveling Music,
Contents Under Pressure , the Masked Rider, Rush: Merely Players...supposedly a new CD this fall followed
by a supporting tour....YIKES.
Maybe I can pick up a few of these items after I pay off the $3K of debt from buying tickets, taking
photos and touring on R30 that I'm still carrying around like a bad habit. Definitely not before then!
